Letters
All newspapers encourage letters to the editor and intend to print the opinions of their readers with as few restrictions as possible. The Fort Frances Times is no exception.
Rules governing letters to the editor in the Fort Frances Times are:
All letters must be signed, and the name of the writer will be printed with all letters published.
The writer must submit his/her letter in person and satisfactory identify themselves, or submit a telephone number to be used to verify that the letter was actually written by the person whose name is included on it, delaying publication if necessary to make the verification.
Letter will not be accepted from people outside the local coverage area unless the letters are written on a topic of primarily local interest.
If a letter attacks another individual or group, the Times will allow a response in the same edition.
Letters should not exceed 300 words and may be edited for length and content.

Dear sir: When I left my home town of Fort Frances back in 1999, I left angry and defeated because I was at NCDS every day looking for work. I could not find work in my own community, so I had to leave Fort Frances in order to do so. […]
Dear sir: On Dec. 30, 2003, I received a huge bill from the Town of Fort Frances for sewer and water services. This was a shock to me because in the 14 months I’ve lived here, I had never received a bill. When I moved here in the later part […]
Dear sir: I left Fort Frances more than 40 years ago to join the navy and see the world, which I ws able to do. During this time, I had the occasional opportunity to read the Times, which I delivered, along with the Daily Bulletin, about 50 years ago. I […]
Dear editor: The new year of 2004 is upon us and it is a time to reflect on 2003. Once again, our community has given freely to those most needy during the Christmas season. Our fourth-annual “Mitts for Kids—Helping Hands” campaign was a good example of this. We were able […]
Dear sir: We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of the kind and generous people who were involved in any way with the Dec. 28 fundraising tea given on our behalf. First of all, we’d like to thank […]
Dear sir: We, the crew of the dedicated air ambulance service out of Sioux Lookout, wish to extend out thanks and unparalleled gratitude to two Fort Frances families. After a long day of delays in our travels of moving patients to their respective destinations, we experienced the love that only […]
Dear sir: Looking back to when our Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship was not full to over-flowing with teams, and there wasn’t a waiting list to fish it, the committee called me and asked if I would go the Minneapolis sport and travel show to promote our bass tourney. With […]
Dear sir: I would like to extend my congratulations to Vic Nowak and the rest of the staff at Family and Children’s Services on their upcoming move to the old Fort Frances High School site. I enjoyed my time working for this wonderful organization, and am sure the staff and […]
