Students at Fort Frances High School inflated an air mattress Friday afternoon in preparation for spending the night in the large gym as part of the “30-Hour Famine.” Almost three dozen students went without food to raise money for starving children. They will donate more than $3,500 to World Vision.

Peter Humeniuk, a well-known artist from Thunder Bay, demonstrated some techniques of watercolour painting to a group of nearly 20 local residents during a weekend workshop called “The Colour of Music.” Held at the Little Beaver Snow Park lodge, participants spent two days learning and refining their artistic skills.
