Louis and Ray Cousineau received the Northwestern Prospectors Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award on April 9 at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay. Between the two of them, they have staked more than 1,200 claims in the Kenora Mining District over six decades. They have opened up the mining interest to many people in the area, and have hosted and helped develop courses for people to take. The Cousineaus also have helped discover many different minerals in the area, with the latest being the diamond one in the Bear’s Pass area.
