Construction workers started the demolition of J.W. Walker School’s gymnasium last week and will hopefully have it finished before students head back to school next week. The gymnasium was destroyed by a fire caused by a gas leak last February while students were off enjoying their winter break.

After a three week break crews are back to work at the Central Avenue construction site here. This week they’ve been digging up the road to install a new manhole. Crews are expected to start laying concrete in the second week of September.
