Dear Mr. Editor: As a result of recent world events, the price of gasoline has understandably skyrocketed. Why then, do we see government employees driving government vehicles with no regard to the price of fuel? I have seen such employees working, etc. They never shut off their vehicles, which wastes […]

Dear sir: Over the winter, I’ve been fortunate to have followed the FFHS Muskie curlers through their playoffs in Fort Frances, Atikokan, Dryden, and Red Lake. They’re a great group of young adults. For them, the trail has given the chance to make new friends, to develop sportsmanship, and to […]
Dear editor: Here is a challenge to the “Re-inventing Fort Frances” committee. I fully agree with the concept of your goals; which I believe are ultimately to have more travellers who cross the border here to stop and spend some time and money in downtown Fort Frances. If this happens, […]
Dear sir: The article in the March 10 edition of the Daily Bulletin, “Police warn drugs may be tainted,” highlights many of the problems created by the prohibition of cannabis. Of course, the laws against its possession have been ruled unconstitutional, which must vex the police no end. That they […]
Dear editor: If you are utilizing any of our local “services,” try following these simple steps. For cable reception problems, call the number provided, navigate the message system, and hold for a very long time. A perky operator will tell you what she thinks is the problem and that you […]
Dear sir: We wish to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to each and every one of the persons involved in the rescue of the five snowmobilers who fell into Sand Bay on Friday, Feb. 28. Without your concern and intervention, the outcome of this fiasco would not have turned […]
Dear editor: I am a polio survivor. I had polio in 1949. In 1951, three of my school friends died from polio. Since March is Polio Month in Canada, I want to raise public awareness about polio and the post-polio sequelae (or syndrome) which many polio survivors are now experiencing. […]
Dear sir: On behalf of the Grade 3/4 Alberton School students, I would like to extend my thanks to Mrs. Schwartz and Mr. Gilbert from the FFHS Science Department for acting as judges at our recent Science Project Display Day. The students were very eager to showcase their hard work […]
Dear sir: Reading Harry Vandetti’s column in last week’s Times re a picture of the old Pither’s Point pavilion, I recall my trying to find one while in the Fort in the summer of 2001 with my “boys” on our trip to the Historic Boundary Waterway. We finally found one […]
Dear editor: I am writing in response to the bylaws Dr. Sarsfield has forced on our district. I would like to point out a few facts. First off, all the known research done on second-hand smoke has been paid for and researched by anti-smoking lobbyists. This research is biased. Not […]
Dear sir: The following letter was written to Premier Ernie Eves and Education minister Elizabeth Witmer: Last spring, the Rainy River District School Board voted to close Alberton Central School in June, 2004 despite extremely strong opposition from residents of Alberton. The board intends to bus Alberton students to J.W. […]
Dear sir: “Hats off,” or should I say “Mitts off,” to you, the community, for making our “Helping Hands—Mitts for Kids” campaign another big success. For the 2002 campaign year, we at In-Focus decided to start our campaign drive early. Thanks to Norma Pattison and her column in the Thunder […]
