Letters
All newspapers encourage letters to the editor and intend to print the opinions of their readers with as few restrictions as possible. The Fort Frances Times is no exception.
Rules governing letters to the editor in the Fort Frances Times are:
All letters must be signed, and the name of the writer will be printed with all letters published.
The writer must submit his/her letter in person and satisfactory identify themselves, or submit a telephone number to be used to verify that the letter was actually written by the person whose name is included on it, delaying publication if necessary to make the verification.
Letter will not be accepted from people outside the local coverage area unless the letters are written on a topic of primarily local interest.
If a letter attacks another individual or group, the Times will allow a response in the same edition.
Letters should not exceed 300 words and may be edited for length and content.

Michael J. Baranowski Dear editor: The new column on fishing by Jeff Gustafson (“From the Livewell”) is interesting and helpful to the average angler, but the one that appeared in the Oct. 15 edition of the Times (“Pre-fishing the key to success come tournament time”) has no meaning on the […]
Christa Little Dear editor: Oct. 19-25, 2008 is Canadian Foster Family Week, which is dedicated to honouring the challenging yet rewarding job undertaken by foster families in the Rainy River District. Jerry Fisher Dear Mr. Editor: The North Western Ontario Tourism Association was pleased to hear the recent responses, by each candidate running in the upcoming federal election, to the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s question on border security and tourism. On behalf of NWOTA, I would like to publicly thank […]
David M. Bourgeault Dear Mr. Editor: Before too many people get too effusive in their praise for Stephane Dion’s carbon tax proposal, they need to realize that these types of levies have a questionable track record. Sweden introduced a carbon tax in 1991 and within six years needed to increase […]
Ken E. Carlson Dear editor: I would like to comment on the article in the Sept. 23 edition of the Daily Bulletin headlined “Town eyeing Scott Street work.” I have problems with the plan to eliminate the sidewalk on the south side of Scott Street from Minnie Avenue to Colonization […]
Capt. Marlene Sandoval Dear sir: I wish to extended my sincere gratitude to all who donated recent gifts to the Salvation Army’s Fort Frances Ministries. onovan Cousineau Dear editor: I am writing today with a complaint about the lack of shinny hockey at the Memorial Arena. I have been playing in the Fort Frances minor hockey program for eight years. Anyone who knows me knows that I enjoy the game, and would like to be […]
