Hundreds of people lined up to get their hands on some fried walleye Friday at the Rainy River First Nations’ pow-wow grounds. Despite the late evening rain, the 48th-annual fish fry featured more than 510 pounds of walleye that fed around 850 guests.

Sam Odrowski Piper Lidkea put on a theatrical performance of the song “Popular” from the Broadway sensation “Wicked” during the annual “Highlights” concert. The young performer also was given the honour of singing the national anthem prior to the show.
