Duane Hicks Dr. Bruce Lidkea of Lidkea Optometry was the master of ceremonies for Thursday’s grand opening. As a business owner just down the block from the Rainy Lake Square, he said he is “very, very please with our new neighbour.”

Hundreds of people lined up to get their hands on some fried walleye Friday at the Rainy River First Nations’ pow-wow grounds. Despite the late evening rain, the 48th-annual fish fry featured more than 510 pounds of walleye that fed around 850 guests.
