An opening reception has been planned this afternoon for two new exhibits at the Fort Frances Museum focusing on the truth about residential schools. Here’s a sneak peek of the exhibit upstairs on the former St. Marguerite’s Indian Residential School and the Fort Frances Indian Residential School here by Couchiching First Nation historian Glenn Jourdain. The exhibit on the main floor, “We Were Taught Differently: The Indian Residential School Experience,” is on loan from the Lake of the Woods Museum in Kenora. The reception, which is open to everyone, will run from 3-7 p.m., with opening remarks set for 3:30 p.m.
