Dear sir, Yet another letter, this time by Mr. R. Garbowski (Aug. 23, 2000), suggests that cormorants are depleting game fish in local lakes and hints at the issue of predator control. Let’s get a firm grip on the ecological reality of having more than six billion people inhabiting this […]

Dear sir: I joined some 3000 UNB’ers in Fredericton for the Millennium Reunion Aug. 3-6. The organizers did a bang-up job and kept us busy breakfast to midnight plus. The city is alive, the University “On the Hill” had expanded four fold (since ’48), but the old arts building, the […]
Dear sir: I’d like to thank the organizers and volunteers for planning the D.A.R.E. camp. I had a great time. Sunny Cove was a great place for camp. I’d especially like to thank the cooks for the great food. I enjoyed swimming, canoeing, playing the sports, and the food. I […]
I am writing this letter to express my concern over the impact that Bill 74 (the Education Accountability Act 2000) will have on our local education system. Presently, the section of this bill that has received the majority of media attention is the potential mandatory extra-curricular. Although, traditionally, extra-curricular activities […]

To the editor: As a Sr. Matric grad of F.F.H.S. in 1948, it was great to be able to be part of the recent Millennium Reunion. What a tremendous effort by the local community–I’m proud of my hometown! However, I recently received a copy of the July 12 edition of […]
Dear editor: Some of Bob Nault’s comments in his attempt to discredit the flat tax proposal of the Canadian Alliance, in his column on Aug. 2, are quite misleading. This proposal has a 17 percent tax rate, an increase in the basic personal and spousal exemptions to $10,000, and a […]
This letter is in response to the article that appeared recently in the Kenora Enterprise. As this article touches a sore spot for many of us, I, for one, would like to know what efforts are being made to put a stop to the so-called underground cabin rentals. Knowing this […]
