Submitted “By The Lamps Glow,” a rug-hooking piece made by Debbie Ballard was awarded first place in the “Best Pattern Design” category of the Fibre Art Festival. All 26 pieces submitted for the exhibit now are on display upstairs at the museum.
Debbie Fairbanks of Couchiching spoke to St. Michael’s students about medicine teachings last Monday during the school’s “Wellness Day.” Gary Councillor also presented with her about the four sacred medicines, which include sage, sweet grass, tobacco, and cedar. Students made medicine poaches to hold the sacred plants.
