Noah Armstrong is ready for his next challenge.
The Fort Frances resident, who represents Mighty Mustangs Wrestling in International Falls, finished first in the 4th grade, 85- to 90-pound division at the NYWA Districts amateur wrestling meet in Deer River, Mn. over the weekend.
With the victory, Armstrong now advances to the regional meet March 19 in Bemidji.
A top-three finish there will earn him a spot at the Minnesota state wrestling tournament in Rochester during the first weekend of April.
Armstrong also was in competition in Hibbing, Mn. on Friday, where he captured third place despite wrestling up a division in the 5th grade category.
Fort Frances-born Hudson Mann, who now lives in International Falls, was second at a meet in Perham that same night.
The usual 5th grade, 120- to 130-pound fighter also moved up a division—participating in the 6th grade category.
Mann next will head to the MNUSA state tournament in Rochester this weekend.
Several other Mighty Mustangs, meanwhile, will take part in a Jaycees’ qualifying tournament in Cloquet.
