Have a good laugh: study

Have a laugh and take it easy, it’s good for your health.

A study by the National Joke Institute (NJI) found that exposure to jokes, like those found on April Fool’s Day, can be beneficial to general health, especially in the midst of a year-long pandemic and the associated lockdowns and restrictions.

The stress of daily life, coupled with teh continuing uncertainty of COVID-19 has negatively impacted a large portion of the country and the NJI study reaffirmed a hearty chuckle is an excellent stress-buster, if only in the short-term.

“No one likes living in a constant state of flux, wondering when the next lockdown will come and when life will finally get back to normal,” the study said.

“So, it’s important to have moments of levity in your daily life ot help easy the weight we’re all living under.”
