October is Healthy Workplace Month and the Northwestern Health Unit is inviting you to participate in its fifth-annual “Workplace Wellness Challenge,” which runs Oct. 2-27.
The goal of the challenge is to encourage participants to be active, to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and to get the right amount of sleep.
Getting the recommended amounts of these three things has been shown to have a positive effect on our work productivity and overall health.
Participants gather points by tracking these activities.
Bonus points also can be collected by drinking less sugary beverages, by spending time with family and friends, and by decreasing screen time.
Regional and local prizes will be given to workplaces that rank the highest based on average points earned per participant.
Get involved and register a team for the fifth-annual Workplace Wellness Challenge!
It can help to improve your health and the health of your workplace.
