Since last Thursday (May 29), the town’s water tower has been off-line.
The water system operators have had an opportunity to adjust the water treatment process with the water tower being out of service. As well, they have been monitoring or tracking the demand for water for the last week-and-a-half.
I am pleased to announce water customers are abiding by the new water restrictions.
As a result, the town is in a position to relax the present water restriction for the month of June.
A modified odd/even day system will be utilized, where customers will be allowed to water their vegetable gardens, flower gardens, and shrubs for a four-hour period from 5-9 p.m.
At this time, customers will not be permitted to use water for lawn care, washing vehicles, and filling swimming pools.
An update on the modified water restriction will be provided during the first week in July as we approach the traditionally high demand period for water and the driest period of the summer.
This modification comes in effect immediately and can be terminated at any time.
The town requires your co-operation during the month of June.
