Vogan repeats as kids’ champ

Not only did the adults have a great weekend of fishing in Morson, but so did those competing in the fourth-annual Morson Bass International kids’ tournament on Sunday.
Fishing on the government dock in Morson, 36 youths jigged and casted away in hopes of catching some fish—and they did not have to wait long.
Just minutes into the tournament, the fish began biting and kids were catching them steadily.
Defending champ Patrick Vogan, seven, took an early lead with three perch. But Jacob Jack was having a hot day, as well, catching them almost as fast as Vogan.
They ended up tied at six fish each with only 10 minutes to go. But Vogan broke out his secret weapon—live worms—and caught the seventh fish he needed to win!
Crowned champion for the second year in a row, Vogan received a trophy and a deluxe tackle box. Jack, who ended up in second with six fish, earned a TBayTel water bottle and a pair of binoculars.
In total, 37 fish were caught by the kids, with every participant receiving a goodie bag and an MBI T-shirt.
