Vehicle stop nets five charges

On June 21 around 11 p.m., members of the Rainy River OPP were dispatched to a report of a single motor-vehicle collision on Eighth Street in Fort Frances.
A member of the Community Street Crime Unit attended the scene and started an investigation.
As a result, a 43-year-old Fort Frances man is facing numerous charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, failure to comply with a prohibition order (two counts), and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He also was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The man was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking.
He is scheduled to attend court here on July 30.
