Upset, too

Dear editor,
The topic of Bill Krukoski’s letter in the Oct. 17 issue of the Times has me upset also. I was apathetic enough to forget about this byelection—this $20,000 would not raise my taxes too much.
What makes me upset now is I must vote again. I thought we did that already, and we have a whole list of winners and those who came next in line.
Just think that everybody’s house taxes on my block would just about take care of running a new election for a town councillor. That’s not so bad, I guess, because it’s only the houses on my side of the street!
The houses on the other side’s taxes will be used for street improvements and other town services, such as garbage pickup.
Then, after musing a while, I thought that would amount to 20,000 bag tags!
Now I have to get my retired butt out some cold, wet day to cast a ballot to elect a councillor our elected officials want? I don’t think so.
I’m disappointed. There has to be a better use for 20 grand. Every taxpayer should think about what better use the town could do with $20,000 on their street or elsewhere!
And so should our councillors.
