Two new fires were confirmed between Oct. 16-19.
Dryden Fire #31, located on an island on Eagle Lake, was reported as “being observed” at 0.3 hectares in size.
Meanwhile, Thunder Bay Fire #50, located near Northern Lights Lake, also was listed as “being observed” at 0.1 hectares.
The forest fire hazard is “low-moderate” across the Northwest Region.
In related news, a prescribed burn in the Sioux Lookout/Dryden districts is being monitored by fire management headquarters staff.
