On June 29 around 8 p.m., a member of the Fort Frances OPP conducted a vehicle stop at the 100 block of First Street East in town.
The officer spoke with the driver, who he determined was under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment, where he underwent more tests.
A 45-year-old Rainy River First Nation man subsequently was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg
He also was charged with two offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The man was released on a promise to appear in court here on July 30.
Meanwhile, on June 30 around 2:35 a.m., officers were conducting patrol in Fort Frances when they observed a pick-up truck travelling at a high rate of speed on Second Street.
Officers followed the vehicle until they were able to conduct a vehicle stop at a residence on Third Street.
Officers spoke with the male driver and determined he had been consuming alcohol.
A 37-year-old Fort Frances man subsequently was charged failing or refusing to provide a breath sample.
He also was charged with three offences under the Highway Traffic Act and one under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The man is scheduled to appear court here on July 30.
