On Sunday around 4:20 a.m., a Rainy River District OPP officer was patrolling on King’s Highway in Fort Frances when he observed erratic driving.
A traffic stop was initiated by the officer, who determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further tests.
As a result, a 33-year-old Fort Frances male was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of undertaking.
Two provincial offence notices also were issued.
He is to appear in the court here on May 28.
Also on Sunday around 7:35 p.m., an Atikokan OPP officer was patrolling on Highway 622 when he observed a vehicle being driven erratically.
A traffic stop was initiated by the officer, who determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further tests.
As a result, a 25-year-old male of Red Deer, Alta. was charged with driving while impaired and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
He is to appear in the court in Atikokan on June 6.
And on Saturday around midnight, an Atikokan OPP officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle there for a Highway Traffic Act offence.
The officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.
He was arrested and transported to the Atikokan detachment for further tests.
A 48-year-old Atikokan man subsequently was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
He also is to appear in court in Atikokan on June 6.
