Traffic stop nets drug bust

On Feb. 7 at 11:30 p.m., Rainy River District OPP officers were patrolling the Township of Emo when they observed a suspicious vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 11.
The vehicle was stopped and a check of the driver revealed he was breaching a previous release condition. The driver was arrested and detained by police.
Treaty Three police attended the scene of the traffic stop to assist the OPP officers. A further search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of cocaine and oxycodone pills.
The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be $12,000.
A male passenger subsequently was arrested.
Cesar Moran and Leo Grouette, both of Winnipeg, were charged with two counts of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
Moran also was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Both were in custody at the Fort Frances District Jail pending a show cause hearing.
