The next homemakers’ “time out” is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14 from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Barwick Community Church. Child care will be provided.

The Christmas fast approaching, a craft sale is being held Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Barwick Hall. Penny table draws also will be held.

A canteen also will be available. All proceeds will go towards the Barwick playground fund.

A raffle by the Emo branch of the Navy League is up and running. First prize is a cedar-lined oak chest, with second prize being an angel quilt. Both are on display at the Emo post office.
Tickets cost $1 each, with the draw to be made in December.

Irene Bosma, our next door neighbour, celebrated her 85th birthday on Friday at her residence, with a few relatives and friendson hand to wish her the best of health.
We all received a piece of birthday cake and ice cream/strawberries.

This Saturday (Oct. 26) from 10 a.m. to about 3 p.m., an Area Counsellor Training and Support (ACTS) workshop is planned at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo.
Area co-ordinator Karen Southam and leadership trainer Sharon Houle will present this workshop on GEMS.
The GEMS need your support.

Cribbage winners at the Emo Legion last Wednesday (Oct. 16) were Rudy Meyers and Gladys Allan (high), with consolations to Rennie and Denis Kivell.
Josie Balcewich won the door prize.
A reminder the next Bingo at the Emo Legion goes tomorrow (Oct. 24). The first 48 Bonanza numbers will be called at 6:30 p.m., with regular games starting at 7 p.m.
The jackpot is $250 and it must go. Everyone is welcome.
