Taggs rebounds for win

Two nights after getting run over by a freight train, Taggs got back on track.
Myan Miller netted a hat trick as Taggs topped Al’s Racquet Stringing 5-4 in Borderland Soccer League women’s division action last night.
It was a horror show for third-place Taggs (4-10) on Tuesday as they were routed 12-1 by the league-leading La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs (11-2).
But the squad bounced back, with Jess Caul (team-high 10th of the year) and Katie Stearns also scoring against Al’s.
Stearns also split keeper duties with Jess Badiuk as Taggs snapped a three-game losing skid.
Angel McCormack had a three-goal night in a losing cause for Al’s (5-9), which lost its second in a row and now is only three points up on Taggs for second place.
Samantha Jibb also tallied while Gloria Hamm and Andrea Bell-Perreault filled in for absent starting keeper Phyllis Pierson.
In men’s play, Pharmasave (5-8-1) had a chance to tie Manitou Forest Products (6-7-1) for second place but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Chad Faragher scored for Manitou while Tyler Ruppenstein replied for Pharmasave.
Mark Faragher guarded the cage for Manitou while Steve Hands was in goal for Pharmasave.
Action resumes Monday at 7 p.m. with Al’s facing the Vous in the women’s division.
The first-place Voyageurs (9-3-2) will clash with Pharmasave on the men’s side.
