With St. Patrick’s Day coming up this Saturday (March 17), there isn’t a shortage of events to celebrate this day.
The Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its annual Shamrock tea and bake sale on Friday (March 16) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the health centre cafeteria.
Admission is $3 and all are welcome to attend.
In related news, auxiliary members will be voting on amendments to its constitution and bylaws at their meeting April 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the health centre cafeteria.

St. Patrick’s Church in Emo once again is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day roast beef supper on Saturday, March 17 from 5-7 p.m.
The meal also will feature mashed potatoes, salads, vegetables, delicious homemade desserts, and all the trimmings.
Admission is by advance tickets only, which cost $15 for adults and $8 for kids aged six-12.
Tickets are available at the Gillons’ office in Emo, or by phoning Joyous Bragg (482-2498) or Heather Oltsher (487-2253).

Belated happy birthday wishes to Denice Meyers, who celebrated her 80th birthday on March 3.
She was honoured with a birthday party at the Devlin Hall, which was attended by all of her children (from near and far) and many of her grandchildren.
Many other family members and friends also attended.
It was a delightful celebration for this kind, gentle, hard-working lady. Denice has lived all her 80 years in the Devlin area, and always has kept the smile on her face and her coffee pot on.
May you enjoy many more birthdays, Denice!

The winner of February 50/50 draw at the Emo Legion was Gail Yeryk, who pocketed $922.50.
A reminder the Legion Pin award ceremony is to be held there on Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
As well, there will be a Good Friday supper at the Emo Legion from 5-6:30 p.m. on March 30 (details are being worked out but save the date).

Don’t forget Emo’s annual “Spring Fever Days” festivities will be taking place April 20-21 this year.
The Legion will hold its annual sale and luncheon.

The D.Y.S. Grade 7/8 Toronto trip fundraising Bingo will take place Thursday, April 12 starting at 7 p.m. at the Emo Legion.

Robin’s 2¢:
When marijuana is legalized, all taxes on it should go to road repairs.
We can call it “Operation Pot Holes.”
