Mayor Roy Avis would like to share with the community the letter he wrote to former resident Duncan Keith on his selection to the NHL all-star game:
Dear Duncan:
On behalf of the citizens of the Town of Fort Frances, I would like to extend our sincere congratulations for your selection to participate in the 2008 NHL all star game.
The citizens of the community have greatly appreciated your recognition of Fort Frances Minor Hockey and its volunteers in various media articles.
Your father, Dave, was one of the founding members of the “Ice For Kids” committee, and your Blackhawk picture now hangs with great pride in the new facility for all the young players to admire and aspire to.
Within the community, you are held in high regard not only for your hockey success, but for your character and work ethic. Your career delivers a positive message to our youth that hard work and dedication can help foster limitless possibilities.
We are proud of all your accomplishments and know that this recent honour is one of many more to come.
