Prospective players hoping to crack the Fort Frances Jr. Sabres’ roster for the upcoming SIJHL season will get their chance this week.
The team wrapped up its rookie camp just over a week ago and now will have all its signed players, plus some hoping to make an impression, in tow when they hit the ice starting tomorrow for their main training camp.
Registration and off-ice testing will take place in the afternoon before the coaching staff breaks the camp into two teams, with separate practices at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively.
Friday will feature more off-ice testing in the afternoon before the two teams meet in a game at 7 p.m.
Saturday also will feature a game at 7 p.m., but it will include three referees and have the look and feel of a real game.
One more game will follow at noon Sunday before the coaching staff makes decisions on personnel and holds player meetings. Three dozen players are expected to be in camp.
