Christian Ripley’s latest work has the top of the SIJHL point production board starting to look like a roll call for the Fort Frances Lakers.
The 20-year-old forward from Duluth collected eight points in three games to be named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions Corp. player-of-the-week yesterday.
Ripley’s efforts, highlighted by a four-goal outburst here Saturday against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs, have moved him into the top 10 in league scoring with 45 points.
He joins four teammates in that group, including current leader Dylan Robertson (80), Nick Minerva (64), Andrew Willner (57), and rookie Cole Tymkin (46).
The Lakers conclude their regular-season schedule with a three-game home series this weekend against the English River Miners.
Friday and Saturday’s games go at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena while Sunday’s start is set for 1:30 p.m.
The Lakers will hold their annual awards banquet this Saturday at 1 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous.
Tickets cost $35 each, which are available from any member of the Lakers’ board of directors.
