Renegades nab third-straight win


The Renegades are keeping pace with their fellow juggernauts in the Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League standings.
They won their third-straight on Monday night, edging the Big Grassy Lynx 18-17 in a high-scoring thriller.
Karma Andy nabbed the win for the Renegades, who improved their record to 6-1.
Nancy Indian was saddled with the loss for Big Grassy (4-2).
In other games Monday night, Shae Smith and Carrie Johnson both homered as the Northwest Bay Beavers routed the Manitou T-Birdies 35-6.
Darcy Smith earned the win for Northwest Bay (3-3) while Angel Medicine was tagged with the loss for winless Manitou (0-7).
In an all-Fort battle, the Mud Dogs handed the Angels their second loss in a row with a narrow 8-6 decision.
Rachelle Yeo nabbed the win for the Mud Dogs (2-3-1) while Redford was tagged with the defeat for the Angels (3-3-1).
And the Dawson Tigers won their second in a row with a 15-7 romp over the Red Gut Babes.
Alicia Anderson garnered the win for Dawson (2-5) while Alyssa Windego took the loss for the winless Babes (0-3-2).
The Fort Frances Her-icanes (5-1) were awarded a forfeit win over the Sabaskong Tebinaak (1-4) as they were unable to field a complete team.
The Couchiching Raiders (6-0) had the bye.
Tonight’s games (weather permitting) will see the Mud Dogs hosting the T-Birdies, the Her-icanes will travel too Big Grassy to battle the Lynx, the Tigers will look to hand the Raiders their first loss in Pinewood, the Beavers will entertain the Babes, and the Renegades will welcome the Angels to Barwick.
