No new fires were reported in the Northwest Region over the weekend, and this quiet time is allowing for FireRangers and staff to continue with mandatory annual training and skills updates.
The fire hazard is “low” across the region, except for the far north sector of Sioux Lookout District, where it is “moderate.”
Meanwhile, all active fires in the region are reported as “under control,” including Kenora Fire #18, Red Lake Fire #3, and Thunder Bay Fire #19.
Nipigon Fire #13, located north of Geraldton, has been called “out.”
In related news, all Ontario resources have returned from Alberta, as well as two technical specialists from Manitoba.
As well, 111 personnel from British Columbia returned home from Ontario yesterday.
