Yesterday at 3:20 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted by members of the Rainy River District OPP on Highway 11 at Couchiching as a result of an ongoing investigation.
A 19-year-old male from Emo subsequently was arrested after 5.5 pounds of marijuana was located and seized.
He was charged with possession for purpose of trafficking, trafficking a Schedule II substance, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
He was released on a promise to appear in court May 16.
