Police investigating vandalism, thefts

Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a mischief complaint Wednesday at Huffman School. A total of 14 windows had been broken at the school.
Police have also received complaints of bicycle thefts. On Tuesday, a Second Street resident reported the theft of a grey BMX “Invader” bike. Then on Wednesday, a Ducharme Road resident reported the theft of a NORCO 10-speed mountain bike.
The Fort Frances OPP would like to remind everyone of the importance of locking his or her bikes and vehicles. It only takes a few moments to lock it up . . . a few seconds to lose it!
And on Monday, Fort Frances OPP officers attended Canada Customs regarding an impaired driver. A 56-year-old Fort Frances man was attempting to re-enter Canada when he was found to be impaired  by Customs officers.
He was subsequently arrested and turned over to the OPP. As a result of the investigation, he has been charged for driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mgs and is scheduled to attend court on Sept. 24.
