Fort Frances Her-icanes’ pitcher Tracy Morningstar was on fire last night—tossing a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the ’Canes clinched first place in the Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League with a 6-1 defeat of the Red Gut Babes. She took a physical beating in the process, however, taking a pitch off her left foot in the third inning and then being knocked out of the game with a suspected broken nose in the seventh after not seeing an oncoming throw from first base until it was too late.
