Voyageurs Wolf Project

PhD student and Voyageurs Wolf Project lead Thomas Gable seen here with wolf V028 in the winter of 2018. The project uses GPS collars and trail cams to track a handful of wolves from around the park each year in order to map out their movements to help better understand their habits during the summer months. Gable said the project has so far amassed a great deal of important and useful data, including the first-ever documented footage of wolves hunting and catching freshwater fish.
