Like a pack of hungry velociraptors, trick-or-treaters converged on the United Native Friendship Centre Circle of Life Centre’s “Jurassic Park” display during the fourth-annual “Trunk or Treat” on Tuesday at the Fort Frances Public Library’s parking lot. The UNFC had an inter-organizational challenge going on with a total of three “trunks” competing at the event. The “Jurassic Park” one earned the Most Original award while a second UNFC entry with a ghostly theme got the “Spookiest” award. Other winners included Northwoods Gallery & Gifts (Brightest), Zaagi-idiwin Aboriginal Head Start (Best Organization), Adrian Chapman Investors Group (Best Individual), and the Rainy River District EMS (Best in Show). The event, organized by the “Project Safe Hallowe’en” committee, saw a record-setting 27 “trunks” participate this year.
