Darcy Jones, who is participating in the Seven Generations Education Institute’s Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP), showed students in Lisa Cousineau’s Early Years class at St. Michael’s how to winnow wild rice yesterday. The students were able to try their hand at winnowing, as well as dancing on the rice and tasting it. Jones’ presentation to the class was part of the ATEP, which is offered in partnership with the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University.
