Northwestern Health Unit health educator Siobhan Booth, right, yesterday presented staff at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts with a plaque and Subway gift certificates for earning first place in the “Walking Workplaces Challenge.” Penny Faragher (left), Neila Booth, Connie Cuthbertson, Penny Flatt, Marilyn McCoy, and Nicole Gray walked an average of 476,681 steps per person throughout the month of September. Meanwhile, Fred Sinninghe, accounting clerk at the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board, earned first place in the individual category of the competition with 722,332 steps. A total of 351 participants and 34 workplaces joined in the challenge, which promoted daily physical activity.
