A small but dedicated group of dog owners came out for the Fort Frances Voyageur Lions Club’s 13th-annual “Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides” along the La Verendrye Parkway yesterday. The fundraiser for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides training school in Oakville, Ont. raised $703–although the club has topped up the amount to $800. The top fundraisers were Emily Jerry ($178), Bryson DeGagne ($130), and Clifford Hatfield ($99.15). Meanwhile, the Emo and District Lions Club held its first “Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides” yesterday in Emo. That event raised a grand total of $1,473, including a $680 donation from Aurora Wind Feeds Ltd.
