Vigil candles

Charmaine Langlais of the Sunset Country Métis lit a candle during the annual service marking the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women yesterday evening at the Knox United Church here while Anne-Marie Armstrong looked on. The candlelight vigil honoured the 14 women killed 23 years ago in what has become known as the “Montreal Massacre,” as well as those local women who have lost their lives at the hands of gender violence.
