Students at Fort Frances High School watched from the bleachers as fellow students and their elders danced to the beats of the drum during a sacred pow-wow on the football field Friday afternoon. Several activities took place over the week, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the raising of the First Nation banners that now permanently hang in the atrium, as part of Aboriginal Celebration Week.
