More than 30 young women from across the district—and as far away as Dryden—learned about skilled trades and technologies during the “Skills Work! For Women” networking dinner last night at La Place Rendez-Vous here. Several local female mentors, including Kim Jo Bliss and Linda Plumridge, talked to the girls in Grades 8-12 about their careers, opening the teens’ eyes to that fact that women can do the same jobs as men.
