Fort Frances mayor Andrew Hallikas, along with town staff, councillors, along with members and supporters of the local 2SLGBTQIA+ marked the beginning of Pride Month in Fort Frances with a flag raising at the Civic Centre on Friday, June 5, 2026. The mayor also read out a proclamation officially declaring June 2026 to be Pride Month in Fort Frances. Community events for the month have already gotten underway, with a Mini Parade, Pride activities, speakers and Pride Trivia held yesterday at the Memorial Sports Centre from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., organized by a number of community partners including Giishkaandago’ikwe Health Services and more.
