Mary O’Connor, Client Service co-ordinator with the Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River Districts, left, along with Alzheimer volunteer Micaela Jensen (centre) donated seven touch quilts to residents at Rainycrest and Activation co-ordinator Heather Hudson (right) there yesterday afternoon. The lap-sized quilts, made by local community members, help to provide sensory stimulation to those with Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia. The touch quilt project has been ongoing for the past two years.
