“Ski Chalet,” a painting by local artist Cher Pruys, recently was awarded the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) first-place award of distinction “for capturing the essence of the Canadian spirit” in the SCA’s show celebrating Canada 150 entitled “O Canada–Our Home and Native Land.” The painting currently is on exhibit at Gallery 78 in Fredericton, N.B., along with another of Pruys’ works, “After The Rain.”
