Local public elementary teachers, occasional teachers, and education support personnel lined the 500 block of Second Street East with picket signs Monday. The one-day strike was part of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario plan to continue sending the government a message that Bill 115 is severely impeding local collective bargaining. Local teachers also wore black arm bands in support of the victims of Friday’s school shooting in Connecticut.
