Taking THE PLUNGE

The Voyageur Lions Club, in partnership with the UNFC, held the 2024 Polar Plunge to an enthusiastic crowd on Family Day. Originally scheduled for New Year’s Day, a lack of ice forced the event’s rescheduling, then a continued lack of ice relocated it to the T-docks for safety. The fundraiser was success for the Lions. Half of the funds raised will benefit the Lions, with the remainder donated to a charity of each jumpers choice:

Allegra Brockie jumped for Best for Kitty.
Bill Michl, chair of the Voyageur Lions Club Polar Plunge Committee, made a splash to benefit the Lions, raising a cool $265.
Lilah Brockie jumped for Best for Kitty
Kara Dresen braved the icy water to benefit Wounded Warriers Canada.
Nate and Angel Bauman, took the plunge for the LaVerendrye Dialysis Unit.
Bill Bone, Ray Friesen and Wes Friesen took a leap of faith together for the Evangelical Fellowship Church.
Chase Tkachyk and Kip Avis took one for the team, raising funds for the FFMHA.
