Taking shape

square progress

Duane Hicks

Work is progressing on the future Rainy Lake Square, where the placement of concrete is ongoing, with completed areas being backfilled and planting beds prepared. More concrete retaining walls are being poured this week while excavations for the stage foundation also are getting started. As well, some large stones are being brought to the site and installed to frame out the site areas, as seen on the bottom right here. The shape of the front portion of the square now can be visualized, and a lot of the grades within the walking paths are close to final grade so the natural slope of the site also is becoming apparent. In related news, Precision Paving has the sidewalk in front of the site complete and it is now open to users. The company now will continue sidewalk installation on the northwest side of the 200 block of Scott Street.
