Bev McCoy, left, along with her parents, Bert and Marj Smeeth, checked out the luminaries lining the track in the ’52 Canadians Arena on Saturday during the survivors’ lap of the annual “Relay for Life” event. Despite being moved from the Sorting Gap Marina to the Memorial Sports Centre due to stormy weather, the 12 participating teams raised more than $40,000. With it being the final year of the partnership between the Canadian Cancer Society and Riverside Foundation for Health Care, a portion of that money will stay in the community.
