Mark Vancook, new project officer for the Rainy River First Nations’ Watershed Program, was on hand yesterday afternoon to help with the community clean-up there. Program staff and adults took the early-afternoon shift while the children helped out once school was over. As part of Earth Week, they worked to clean up Highway 11 and the Manitou Rapids dump, and also enjoyed a barbecue. Earth Day falls on April 22 this year.
