A deep, deep hole is being dug at the intersection of Nelson Street and Victoria Avenue to accommodate the new sewer lines and watermain going in. The new lines are being put in about one metre deeper than the old ones, so the hole has to be about 15 feet deep and is almost as wide. The work has closed Victoria Avenue from Nelson Street almost to the hospital and Nelson Street from Victoria to Portage Avenue for several weeks now.
