Kevin Gemmell of the Barwick Blue Knights slid into home safely with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning while Rainy Lake Pirates’ catcher Cole Tymkin waited for a throw that never came in Game 1 of the Rainy River District Fastball League’s best-of-three championship final yesterdy evening at Oltsher Field. The Blue Knights went on to earn an 8-4 victory. Game 2 is set for this Tuesday (Aug. 25) at 6 p.m in Barwick.
